Stavros The Greek

Kenmore

STAVROS THE GREEK IN KENMORE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Stavros the Greek is serving up outstanding traditional Greek food with a modern twist in the leafy westside suburb of Kenmore.

Not just for locals, Stavros is worth travelling to for everything is prepared with creative flair, using the very best of fresh and carefully sourced ingredients.

The contemporary interior is slick and minimalist, with pendant lighting, flushes of blue and an open kitchen with dining tables. Sunset bar is the secondary, informal area at Stavros which is designed for enjoying typically Greek sundowners. Here there is pink, ambient lighting and bar seating for those wanting a casual dining option.

House dips include taramasalata, tzatziki, almond skordalia, green olive puree and garlic/white bean whilst the Meze, designed to share, include highly recommended seared barossa Valley haloumi with lemon, fried WA whitebait with aioli, spanakopita with tzatziki and lamb soutzoukakia.

Must try at Stavros are the Souvlaki - chicken thigh with oregano and thyme, pork belly with paprika and lemon or lamb leg with rosemary and garlic and also recommended are the Charcoal Grill dishes such as split king prawns with chili tomato feta sauce and pita bread or fried octopus, chili evoo, oregano and lemon. The sides and salads make for the perfect accompaniment with choices such as radish or Greek salad, fried zucchini chips, roasted beet and kale salad or the Ellinikos garlic lemon potatoes.

Meanwhile desserts are well worth saving room for - think almond baklava with yoghurt ice-cream and candied carrot puree or chocolate and feta cheese tart with lemon curd and olive oli mousse and black salt.

On the drinks menu you'll find a selection of Greek wines, Greek beers and a few spirits, alongside their ‘Pick your own love potion’ gin and tonic menu.
