Elixir Rooftop Bar

Fortitude Valley

ELIXIR ROOFTOP BAR HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Elixir Rooftop Bar, a tranquil oasis of subtropical plants, daybeds and fruity cocktails, can be found perched atop a notorious Valley building and one time gambling den during the Fitzgerald era.

Taking its name from the ancient tale of the Elixir of Life, (a mystical drink made from pounded ingredients that was the key to eternal life and offered to the moon goddess), the bar's fresh fruit infused cocktails embody this spirit while the bar itself is overseen by another piece of mythology – a line-up of rabbits from the Chinese belief that there's a rabbit (not a man) in the moon.

Along with the highly original mix of cocktails, everything served here is top shelf, from the 15+ local craft beers, spirits and wines to the unique range of ciders.

Food wise, a range of chef prepared bar snacks are available to accompany and these include roast chorizo with house made corn bread, roast almonds with smoked salt and vinegar, braised shallot and goats cheese tart and the must-try spiced lamb with brussel sprouts and mustard vinaigrette.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
