Regardless of dietary leanings, Fundies is a destination that will please both vegetarians and carnivores. In fact what they can’t do with a chick pea or a lentil isn’t worth doing.

For years they’ve been perfecting their craft in the simple pine-floored cafe annexed to Fundies supermarket and serving up meals that are incredibly tasty and good value. The menu changes daily and when a dish has run out that’s it. The soups, moussakas, lasagnes and anything involving eggplant are standouts.

The breakfasts aren’t half bad either and you can usually get a table when neighbouring cafes are chock full.

As well as an ace little café, Fundies is a one stop mart for organic and herbal needs, employing naturopaths to give advice on ailments and general health as well as stocking a decent range of everything to stock the pantry, fresh fruit and veges, dairy and non-dairy products, natural ice-blocks and a great range of savoury snacks.
