Project 41
Bowen Hills
Project 41 is a sleek modern coffee spot and eatery that occupies the base of a shiny new Bowen Hills building near the Brisbane Showgrounds and the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
The light-filled industrial chic space features glass windows looking across to the showgrounds, pale timber tables and trimmings, concrete floor and a wall of hanging plants in white pots.

Open for all day breakfast and lunch, Project 41 does a delicious twist on your standard office and takeaway lunches, with gourmet Subs for lunch (think Banh Mi, Peri Peri Chicken or 14hr BBQ Beef Brisket) and breakfast (filled with thick-cut bacon, avo, cheddar and home-made tomato relish).

There’s also Jaffles (try the Hock Monsieur with smoked pork hock, béchamel and gruyere), Salads and Gourmet Sandwiches (Pastrami/Smoked Salmon or Leg Ham on choice of bread).

Or for something more substantial try one of the Slow-Cooked Meat dishes (with the option of Salad Combo) – recommended is the 14hr Beef Brisket served with avo, beet slaw, pickled radish and coriander and a choice of corn chips or soft tortilla.

As well as the sub, on the Breakfast menu are Grilled Mushroom Burgers, Toast and Jam, Coconut, Goji and Almond Granola or a selection of dainty fresh-baked pastries including croissants, Danishes and scrolls.

Project 41 is also a serious coffee destination, with 3 coffee types available – Brisbane’s own Blackstar (for milk coffee) and the Odyssey Project (for black coffee) along with a rotating Invitational Coffee, sourced from any one of over 1100 boutique roasteries, from Melbourne to NZ and West Australia. As well as the usual espresso style, coffee here comes as Cold Brew, Filter or Mocha.

Non-coffee drinks meanwhile include tea from the West End Tea Co (China Green, Vanilla Spiced Chai, Earl Grey, Peppermint and English Breakfast), Hot or Iced Chocolate, Chai Latte, Ginger Beer, soft drinks and a selection of Emma and Tom’s juices.
Need to know – All meals are available dine-in or takeaway. Loose leaf tea is not available as takeaway. Like the coffee you’re just drunk? Bags of Black Star and Odyssey Project beans are available to purchase over the counter.
