Eat Mii is an absolute gem of a Vietnamese café and bar located in the bustling heart of West End's Boundary St.
Diners can sit al fresco at the polished wooden tables or in the cool basic interior where there’s an open kitchen and Vietnamese artworks on the wall and enjoy absolutely delicious Vietnamese dishes with a fresh creative twist.
The charming chef Dianne honed her craft over the years cooking for her family of seven siblings and her menu brings traditional Vietnamese hawker food and staples with a touch of rare sophistication to the table, as well as a Western breakfast menu of the usual favourites.
A standout from the all-day ‘Feeling Hungry’ menu is the ‘Bo Ne’ (Eat Mii Big Breakfast), unlike anything else being served in Brisbane – quality eye fillet steak with fried egg, Xiu Mai (pork meatballs), mushrooms and tomato served with a basket of crunchy Vietnamese baguette.
Other generous-sized dishes in this section include Xiu Mai (pork balls in tomato sauce) with Vietnamese baguette and Com (Vietnamese rice dish) with pork/chicken or Bo Luc Lac (wok-tossed marinated beef).
Not to be missed from the all-day Vietnamese hawker street style menu is the Banh Cuon (steamed rice crepe rolls filled with pork mince, wood ear mushrooms and Asian herbs, served with Vietnamese pork slices and Nuoc Mam (fish sauce).
Eat Mii also serves some of the best Banh Mi around – with fillings of pork, chicken, beef, Nem Nuong (pork patties), Xiu Mai (pork meatballs), omelette or fried tofu.
There’s also delsious fresh Goi Cuon (rice paper rolls), Bun (Vermicelli rice noodle salad), Dianne’s Beef Salad or Mii Chay (vegetarian stir-fired egg noodles).
Served from 11am* daily are also a couple of share plates, perfect with a Saigon beer (served here) – fresh premise-made Spring Rolls or ‘Eat Mii’ Dumplings (Gyoza-style pork dumplings with shiitake mushrooms and chives).
And for those after a Western breakfast, there’s plenty of options too, all served until 11.30 daily – Big Meaty or Vegetarian Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Eggs on Toast, Halloumi Stack, Breakfast Burrito or an ‘Eat Mii’ Omelette.
To accompany there’s the usual range of espresso-based coffees, as well as Turmeric, Chai or Rocky Road Lattes, T2 teas and the must-try Vietnamese drip coffee, hot or cold.
A refreshing option any time of day is the Fresh Young Coconut served with sliced fruit, with the option to takeaway and unopened coconut.
