Pizzeria Violetta
Wilston
PIZZERIA VIOLETTA IN WILSTON HAS CLOSED.
Pizzeria Violetta, home to some of the best pizzas in Brisbane’s north is one half of Wilston’s dynamic dining duo that includes Chinese eatery Sichuan Bang Bang.
Sharing a slick modern premise that is open-sided to the street, Pizzeria Violetta is the local go-to for top notch traditional Italian pizzas, a handful of delcious Starters and killer tiramisu.
Pull up a seat at the bar and watch the Italian pizza chefs in action at the giant gleaming tiled pizza oven, at one of the indoor tables with wall banquette or al fresco under the trees out front.
Choose from delicious rustic wood-fired pizzas with traditional toppings, with Bianche (white) including Rustica (mozzarella, pork & fennel sausage, taleggio, baked fine potatoes and basil), Boscaiola (porcini mushrooms, mozzarella, taleggio, bresaola & truffle oli) or cheese-lover’s delight Quattro Formaggi (mozzarella, gorgonzola, taleggio, provola and truffle oil).
Rosse (red) toppings include Diavola (spicy ‘inferno’ salami, tomato sauce, mozzarella & basil), Margherita (tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella & olive oil) or Primavera (mozzarella, parma ham, tomato sauce, rucola, cherry tomatoes, parmigiana shavings, cracked pepper & olive oli).
To accompany there’s Nonna’s garlic and rosemary breads and a choice of tasty fresh Insalata and for Dessert as well as Tiramisu, a range of delicious artisan La Macelleria gelati.
Bambini are also catered for at Pizzeria Violetta, with three choices of pizza: Margherita with ham, Formaggi (cheese) or Mimosa (mozzarella, corn kernels, ham and olive oil).
On the predominantly Italian drinks list are cocktails (Aperol Spritz or Negroni), Birra (Peroni Leggera or Birra Menabrea), red and white house wines from Australia alongside a small selection of Italian sparkling, red, rose and white, Digestives (including Amorino Nonino, Limoncello and Grappa Prunella or Vendemmia).
And to finish there’s Espresso, Affogato or Café Coretto (with Grappa, Amaro Montenegro, Sambucca or Bailey’s).
Need to know – Regardless of where they are seated (n the lively Italian section or the red and black oriental dining den, diners can choose from the Italian menu or Sichuan Bang Bang’s fiery Chinese menu.
Nice to know – Owned by restaurant whizz Renata Roberts, Pizzeria Violetta and Sichuan Bang Bang are the 3rd ‘non-identical twin’ siblings to Kenmore’s eateries of the same name and share the same menu.
