The Chill Café
Wooloowin
The Chill Café in Wooloowin is the perfect place to chill out – it is aptly named to suit its relaxed atmosphere, hearty food and faultless service.
The suburban café is suitably situated across the road from Wooloowin train station, making it the ideal stop for your morning coffee or breakfast hotspot. The café is outdoors and decorated with thriving pot plants. There is bar seating and table seating available, as well as plenty of areas for your pooch to relax (yes, dogs are welcome).
The breakfast menu is short and sweet, filled with classic favourites but with a bit of a ‘Chill’ twist. You won’t leave The Chill Café hungry either as their portion sizes are rather generous. Try Eggs Benny for example, a huge dish of two poached eggs on sourdough with hollandaise, spinach and mushrooms and your choice of triple smoked ham, bacon or salmon.
Their Breakfast Brushetta ‘uovo’ is also a must do, which is sourdough served with tomato, onion, garlic sundried tomatoes, a poached egg and drizzled with virgin olive oil. Another version of the classic bruschetta is their Tomato Mozzarella which is served with a homemade basic glaze.
For a meal on the go grab a ham and tomato sourdough roll, filled with crunchy cabbage, mayonnaise and Carsten’s amazing Tomato Curry Sauce. Carsten is the owner of The Chill Café and he also sells his range of sauces in bottles on the counter.
Coffee is naturally on the menu but The Chill Café also has a few unique drinks up their sleeve, such as a Tumeric Latte and a Matcha Latte. Although, you can’t go past their salted caramel milkshake, which is made with Carsten’s homemade salted caramel sauce – it is divine.
Need to know – Street parking is available nearby.
Nice to know – Owner, Carsten has a German background, hence the side of homemade pickled sauerkraut on each dish!
