ABBOUD BAKERY HAS CLOSED.

Abboud Bakery is a Middle Eastern bakery café in Underwood Marketplace serving authentic Lebanese pizzas, traditional Middle Eastern desserts, Arabic coffee and Campos coffee.

Operated by Syrian refugees, head-chef George Tabbakh is a third-generation baker who had to leave his family bakery behind in his war-torn country.

The concise menu includes manoosh, a type of Lebanese pizza, cooked in a tradional cast iron oven imported for Lebanon.  Toppings range from zaatar (a traditional blend of oregano, thyme, sumac and sesame seeds), haloumi and mozzarella, zataar special with labne, fresh tomatoes, olives, mint and cucumber, and spiced lamb mince. Otherwise, there are small and big plates of falafels and kibbeh served with pickles, garden salad, trio of house made dips and warm Lebanese bread.

Sweet treats include baklava, knafe (a traditional Arabic cheese pastry) and Lamington Manoosh with Nutella, coconut, fresh cream and house made jam.

Drink wise, there’s Arabic tea and coffee, Campos coffee and a selection of Origin teas.
