Given Kitchen & Bar is a slick little Pan Asian diner from the folk behind popular Paddington Vietnamese eatery NGON.

By day, the morning crew dish up a delicious and Asian-flavoured brunch menu with dishes such as Ubi Mocha Waffles, Bubble tea Panna Cotta, Hangover Fried Rice and Karaage Chicken or Banh Mi Burgers.

In the evening, the menu takes diners on a foodie's trip through south-east Asia, with a selection of delicious fusion dishes that derive from different cultures and cuisines. Seating is either in the chic long space, lined with a red banquette and adorned with Asian art and craftworks or on the pavement outside (where dogs are welcome to join their owners).

To start, there are small plates such as Kinilaw (twist on a Filipino dish - salmon, green mango & finger lime gin in crispy wonton), Duck Taco (confit duck, pickled carrot, cucumber, shallot & hoisin) or Grilled Corn (with dukbokki sauce, mozzarella and parsley).

Not to be missed are the Skewers, a house specialty, with a choice of chicken (lemongrass, turmeric & peanut sauce); tofu (mushroom, red peppers, zucchini & chimichurri); pork (garlic, five spice & honey); king tiger prawn or the melt-in-the-mouth wagyu rump (garlic, onion, nuoc cham) wrapped in betel leaf.

Larger plates to share include Fish of the Day (with lemon grass, ginger, turmeric & aromatic oil), Duck (red curry, potato & fried shallot); Chicken (charcoal BBQ'd with lime & chilli); Beef (wagyu rump, garlic & Vietnamese chimichurri) and Eggplant (with brunoise veg, garlic, soy & chilli oil). 

Each of the share plates comes with a side of either steamed rice or steamed Asian greens, with the option to add your own as sauce (nuoc cham, vietnamese chimichurri, green chilli sauce, peanut sauce, dukbokki). Other sides include crushed cucumber or a vermicelli platter.

From the little bar at the front, you'll find a unique selection of Asian-flavoured cocktails including Mojitos (Along the Mekong and You Crazy Coconut); Sour & Short (Cherry Blossom and Sloe Down as well as Given Gin Tonics (with Fossey's kaffir gin, red pepper, kaffir lime & Long Rays tonic) and a selection of boutique spirits. The wine list includes wines from Spain, Austria and France, together with a selection of Australian wines.
