Breakfast Creek Green Bridge

Newstead

Breakfast Creek Green Bridge is a new pedestrian and bike bridge which is currently nearing completion by Brisbane City Council and which will span Breakfast Creek and connect Lores Bonney Riverwalk with Newstead Park.

The bridge will provide a safe, scenic and more convenient to walk or ride along the river all the way from the inner city (New Farm) to the northern suburbs (Ascot/Hamilton).

The main arch, which has now been installed, has been painted to resemble the leaves of the native fig trees and is an incredible centrepiece of the project.

With the span installed, final works on the bridge are now about to be be completed and include concrete pours for the bridge deck, balustrade installation, electrical and lighting installation, and finishing works such as line marking and signage.

The bridge is expected to open in early 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting.
