Carl's
Newstead
CARL'S HAS MOVED OUT OF ITS NEWSTEAD ADDRESS AS OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2022 AND WILL RE-OPEN AT A NEW LOCATION WITH ADDRESS AND DATE TBA.
Carl’s is an inner-city cellar door that serves as a café by day, wine bar by night, found in the heart of Newstead.
Named after Carl Gerler, one of Brisbane’s first vintners who made wine for medicinal purposes, Carl’s offers boutique wines under the label Gerler, handmade by micro-winery City Winery.

Patrons can sip well-brewed Di Bella coffee during the day while enjoying breakfast faves such as smashed avo on sourdough with dukkah, lemon and herbs, or truffle honey and whipped ricotta on sourdough.

Settle in for an afternoon of wine tasting with top-drops of white, red and rosé on offer including preservative-free and vegan wine, best accompanied by cheese, charcuterie and conservas.

The carefully curated, concise menu includes items such as sourdough with shaved bottarga and Pepe Saya cultured butter, shaved prosciutto and guindillas, pork rillette with cornichons, mussels in escabeche, and sardines in tomato served with seeded baguette.
