Composed Chaos

"Composed Chaos" is an evocative exhibition by renowned artist Emma Darrouzet, now showing until August 20th at Studio on Brunswick's Pop-Up Gallery, located in California Lane, Fortitude Valley.

Emma Darrouzet’s latest body of work is a raw and thought-provoking exploration of the mind’s labyrinth when confronted with unsolicited and often misguided advice. Her pieces satirise common, yet frustrating, suggestions such as “fresh air” or “bushwalking” as cures for anxiety and depression.

In her artist statement, Darrouzet reveals, “many of us have been through something huge that is invisible to those looking in from the outside. Sometimes when you’re in a dark place, even those closest to you aren’t able to provide any practical support.” Her neon, abstract works invite introspection and rich dialogue.

Emma is an accomplished artist with a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Honours) in Fine Painting, postgraduate studies at the Colorado Academy of Visual Art and has exhibited in Sydney and Brisbane. Her experience includes leading the Art Experience Program at Sydney Children’s Hospital and working with Arts in Health programs, making her a seasoned professional in using art as therapy and catharsis.
