The Cross River Rail Experience Centre

Brisbane CBD

Updated: Mar 09, 2025

Discover the Cross River Rail Experience Centre, Brisbane's new fully interactive, fun and informative family attraction.

The Centre is an ideal destination for curious minds, young and old, including train and history buffs. Visitors can take a look at Brisbane, from the past to the future, and find out the science and engineering behind a once-in-a-generation project - the Cross River Rail.

Cross River Rail Experience

Created in partnership with Queensland Museum, highlights of the centre include a VR Station and Reality Theatre. The purpose-built VR Station allows users to travel back in time to 1819 and forward into the future, through Cross River Rail’s future stations and over-station precincts.

The ground-breaking Reality Theatre is a fully immersive, unique experience. Computer generated 270° projections allow groups to fly through the Cross River Rail tunnels and precincts, and travel through time around Brisbane.

The Cross River Rail Experience Centre

The Maker Space is a specially designed kids' arts and craft space where kids can bring their creations to life (with a little bit of digital magic). In addition, kids can explore Brisbane's new underground on the Discovery Table.

The Discovery Table is a seven-metre long scale model of Brisbane’s CBD that has been brought to life with 3D projections and interactive touch screens. Kids and adults alike will love exploring the Discovery Table, as well as learning about the largest infrastructure project that Queensland has ever seen.
