DeAnne Smith - Epiphany

Brisbane Powerhouse

Self-described ‘Gentleman Elf’, DeAnne Smith is heading to our shores to perform her new show Epiphany at this year's Brisbane Comedy Festival.

The Canadian/American multi-award-winning comic, who last year was nominated for Australia's top comedy award, The Barry, arrives fresh from taping the acclaimed 2019 Netflix special Just For Laughs, a half hour show featuring 47 handpicked comedians.

Canadian Comedy Award winner, and NBC'S Last Comic Standing Semifinalist, DeAnne’s newest show is guaranteed to be jam-packed with the intelligence, spontaneity and sideswipe punchlines Australian audiences adore.

In Australia, DeAnne is a regular on Network Ten’s annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala and The Great Debate, as well as ABC TV’s The Weekly and Comedy Up Late. Her 2017 MICF gala spot went viral when, "Straight Men, Step Your Game Up," was viewed 35 million times.

In addition to multiple seasons at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, DeAnne has performed all over the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Iceland Comedy Festival, the invite-only Just for Laughs Montreal and Chicago, to name a few. She also has an award-winning podcast - “DeAnne Smith’s Questionable at Best”.

If you’ve not yet caught DeAnne Smith’s hilarious, unique and whip-smart brand of comedy, you need to.
