A Flowering Tree QPAC, Opera Queensland

Be swept away by the imagery, the magic and the romance of this resplendent retelling of a traditional Indian folk tale, which explores themes of magic, metamorphosis and the healing power of deep and selfless love. This contemporary love story is not only a beautiful opera, it is relevant and relatable for our times.

Australian powerhouse soprano, Eva Kong, plays Kumudha, a beautiful, young woman with the magical ability to transform herself into a tree covered in exquisite blooms, but arrogance, jealousy and family rivalries cause catastrophic results. British-Australian tenor, Adrian Dwyer, plays the Prince and American bass-baritone, Craig Colclough, plays the role of Narrator.
