New Farm

FONZIE ABBOTT ESPRESSO AT NEW FARM HAS CLOSED.

Boutique coffee roaster Fonzie Abbott Espresso can be found in one of the character heritage buildings that face off on the intersection of the Valley and New Farm.

Patrons can enjoy one of the inner city's finest espressos from within one of the cosy polish floored rooms or from one of the decks that overlook two of the quirkiest buildings in New Farm (both of which happened to be designed by Brisbane City Hall's architects hall & Phillips) – the flamboyant wedding cake tiered La Scala or the notorious 1920s apartment block Avalon, that has in its time housed artists, junkies, a crystal meth lab and been the set of a porno film.

As well as good coffee, there's a small range of sweet treats available – croissants, muffins and cookies, and afterwards customers can take home a bag of their fresh roasted beans or a souvenir T-shirt.
