Poolwerx Moggill Marathon

Runners can choose from the half marathon, 10km, 5km or 2km runs. Within these routes, runners can experience a total elevation of 181m and enjoy the rural out and back along Priors Pocket Road during the half marathon; conquer Mt Moggill which is a 191m bottom to top in 3 routes or be the first to catch the goose or gander in the 5km ‘Wild Goose Chase’.

Poolwerx Moggill Marathon

The marathon is a whole community fun-run event and initiative of Moggill/Mt Crosby Lions Club that was first instigated in 2020 by local Moggill residents David Ember and Emil Schoeman. When the Brisbane Marathon was cancelled, they created their own alternative marathon around the hills of Moggill, starting and finishing at Westaway Park.

Along with this support and that of many local businesses including Poolwerx, The Local Bulletin, Moggill Village, Hutchison Builders, Bravery Box and more, the event will expand to include the full marathon from 2022 and become an annual fixture.
