Regatta Hotel’s back laneway is set to sizzle as Regatta Barbecue Fest fires up across the weekend of Sept 6 – 8.
A tribute to all things BBQ, the free, three-day festival will treat all comers to the hottest barbecue tips, tricks and secrets, as well as a mouth-watering array of pop-up food and drink stations. There are 3 great precincts to explore, showcasing an abundance of meaty goodness, including smoking meats, a live fire precinct, rubs, side dishes, sauces, and much more.
A variety of BBQ masterclasses will operate across the weekend, with experts sharing their secrets on how to cook the perfect steak, make home-made BBQ sauce, nail the BBQ side dish, and even butchery.
If eating – and drinking – is a high priority, then the Live Fire Precinct is the place to be. Here you’ll find some of the best BBQ plates in Brisbane, including beef brisket, smoked chicken wings, fire roasted lamb and pork, plus epic burgers and more. Then wash it all down by stopping at one of the many pop-up bars serving a variety of beers, whiskies (including a smoke bar!) and wine.
Still wanting more barbecue-y goodness? Secure your place at the two exclusive ticketed events. The Hot & Fast Masterclass (tickets $199) is hosted by Regatta Hotels’ Executive Chef Simon Street and The National Grilling Network’s Richard Bell, and includes a seated lunch and 3-hour drinks package.
The Regatta Pitmaster Invitational (tickets $150) sees 6 teams battle it out for the prestigious title of The Regatta Grand BBQ Champion. As well as sampling the cooked goods (and helping to pick a winner), guests will enjoy a 3-hour beverage package.
