The Tinsel Bar

South Brisbane

THE TINSEL BAR HAS CLOSED AS OF DEC 22 2019.

The Tinsel Bar is a rainbow tinsel-festooned wonderland tucked away on the edge of Fish Lane in South Brisbane.

One of Brisbane's most stunning and colourful bars, which makes patrons feel like kids again, The Tinsel Bar features neon lights, over the top retro-inspired cocktails and nostalgic bar food.

On the cocktail menu there's Frosty Fruit Frappes (Frosty Fruits, vodka and mint), Cottees Cordial Cooler (gin, lemon, soda, cordial and foam) and Bambi's Milkshake (musk, vanilla and ice-cream with the option of adding schnapps), as well as Pina Colada (Malibu, pineapple and coconut) and Tinsel Town Spritzer (aperol, prosecco and soda). In addition there's beer or wine by the glass or bottle.

The nostalgic food menu features kids birthday party faves like fairy bread, fairy cupcakes, pop rocks, party pies (with tomato chutney) or sausage rolls (with smoked tapanade) together with more grown-up fare such as pate onion jam and baguette, crudites with French onion dip, chicken and chive or bolognese toasties and charcuterie and pickles.

During the day from Monday to Friday, The Tinsel Bar turns into The Tinsel Deli, serving freshly-made sandwiches, toasties, salads and juices and on weekday nights (Sun-Thu) it is available for functions.

Always party ready, the gorgeous space is available for everything from birthdays to hens nights during the week, and will also host regular art and craft themed events hosted by co-owner Rachel Burke (of (@imakestagram fame).
