Valentines in The Lanes

Fortitude Valley

Whether there is love in the air or not a care, this February the ultimate line-up of Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day festivities is coming to Fortitude Valley, presented by The Lanes Fortitude Valley.

For all the Brisbane lovers out there, you can enjoy unique Valentine’s Day experiences in Bakery Lane, California Lane and Winn Lane as they become Lovers’ Lanes for Valentine’s Day, and fur babies are welcome.

Valentines Day Lanes

Bakery Lane is creating a unique Valentine’s Day experience for the 4th year in a row, with their Love Animated 4 FREE outdoor cinema and love-themed food and drinks. The boutique Fortitude Valley lane will be screening a collection of heart-warming animated short films from Animated Alliance Australia and offering couples a specialised exclusive menu. The screening will include 14 animated short films from 12 countries about love and ALL its forms - from romance stories to unexpected, heart-thumping fantasy, and featuring the 2020 Oscar-nominated short film “Hair Love”. Couples will be able to sip and sample a range of eats from Cakes and Shit, Nom Nom Korean, and Botanical Lab.

The outdoor screen will be able to be viewed from cafe seating and couples, crushes and BFFs alike will be able to stroll, watch and take in the entire lane’s food affair. And those who come early will be serenaded by the melodic sounds of a cellist on entering the lane.

Book movie tickets here.

Valentines Day The Lanes

California Lane is not to be outdone, with Valentine-themed food and cocktails from Poco Brisbane, Fat Dumpling Fortitude Valley, Froth on Brunswick, Giardinetto, and  Shishou Sake Bar. Here you can enjoy another romantic movie on the big screen while sharing a meal with your Valentine. And for those are celebrating Galentine’s Day with gals and pals, on Thursday 13th of February there'll be late night shopping, special offers on services and locally sourced fashion.

On Saturday 15th from 10am, Alice Nightingale and the Stand are combining for their ultimate Dog Brunch where you can show your love for your fur baby by making their very own dog shirt. There’ll also be cocktails and delicious brunch foods from The Stand, live music, a fur baby photo wall and a chance for your doggo to meet other dogs.

In Winn Lane you can join Practice Studio for a workshop on how to give that well-loved item the TLC it deserves. The crew at Practice Studio will assist you with your repair and give you some pro tips for DIY touch ups. Workshops will take place on Friday 14th at 9am, Saturday 15th at 9am and Sunday 16th at 4pm. The workshop will run for approximately 45 minutes and will only cost you $25.

Forge Forward has a month-long theme of Alternative Love where you can book into a series of workshops including some from ceramic artist Bonnie Hislop. For Galentine’s day on the 13th, floral artist Helena Rose is offering a 3 hour flower crown workshop with all materials – including a glass of bubbles and light snacks for you and your gals.

Meanwhile upstairs from Winn Lane, The Zoo is going all out anti-Valentine’s with a Ruckus Poetry Slam on the 13th to celebrate all your love fails. So bring your break up poems, late-night texts and the memoir of the time you got blocked from Tinder. You can share all your original material here.
