Anzac Square Memorial Galleries

Brisbane CBD

Anzac Square Memorial Galleries welcome visitors to experience the quiet solitude of Queensland’s state war memorial and gain a greater understanding of Australia’s military past.

Set amidst beautiful parklands in the heart of the city, Anzac Square is home to the magnificent Shrine of Remembrance and Eternal Flame, providing permanent recognition for those who have served our nation.

Beneath the shrine sits the revamped Memorial Galleries, featuring a free exhibition curated by the State Library of Queensland. The exhibition takes visitors on an interactive journey from the First World War to today, ensuring a richer understanding of content from World War I, World War II and post-1945.

Back outside, the tranquil parklands make the perfect setting to reflect on the extraordinary true stories of Queensland’s servicemen and women – from the homefront and the warfront – and their enormous commitment, bravery and sacrifice.
