Fortitude Valley

Stone & Wood's Brisbane brewery inhabits the landmark heritage building that was once home to Trails Ice in Fortitude Valley.

The popular craft brewers from Byron Bay have brought their signature style to the warehouse, which is tucked away in a dead end street next to a railway line. Custom built furniture by local craftsman Blackwood Collective complements the massive, industrial, chic space with its soaring ceilings.

To one side, there's the bar with the working brewery behind, and to the other, a canteen window where you can order food. At the rear is a merchandise wall.

Beer is the main attraction here, with punters able to choose from Green Coast, Garden Ale, Pacific Ale, Cloud Catcher, Jasper Ale, the Gatherer and Stone Beer (by the schmiddy or taste), as well as Treehouse Cider, while for the adventurous, an Experimental Pilot Batch of untried/experimental or limited edition. Can't decide? Then go for a tasting paddle. In addition, there's a small selection of boutique wines.

Food-wise, the Canteen's menu includes freshly-shucked Pacific oysters, pork crackling, hot chips, popcorn chicken, oyster mushrooms, bao buns (pork belly, popcorn chicken or grilled king brown mushrooms) and a spicy indo bowl (crispy pork belly, grilled lemongrass chicken or fried tempeh with rice noodles, fresh herbs and pickled veges).
