Working Title Brew Co
Newstead
Working Title Brew Co is now open in Newstead pouring a range of fresh craft brews served alongside inspired, Asian-influenced fare.
Taking over the former Newstead Brewing space on Doggett Street, Working Title is the passion project of two mates, Mark Howes and Luke Shield, who have a decade of experience working in and around beer.
Known for their unique and experimental ales (available in select bottle shops and bars), the Newstead brewpub will feature an ever-changing range of brews on tap, with Working Title promising to release 4 new beers every month.
While the brews on offer will stay fresh and new, rest assured you'll be able to find something to quench your thirst with a Pilsner, IPA, West Coast and Sour always on tap.
The bar boasts 12 taps, currently pouring Trial Run (pilsner), Crush (hazy DIPA), Whiplash (triple red IPA), Moonlight and Pretzels (salted-caramel pastry stout), One Drop (red plum sour) and more.
Not just for beer drinkers, Working Title also offers a selection of small-batch wines, classic cocktails - Negroni, Whisky Sour and Espresso Martini - and 3 signature concoctions like Bangkok Dangerous (tequila, agave, lime, orange liqueur, ginger, lemongrass and soda) and Nang Nak (bourbon, lime leaf infused gin, orange juice and ginger beer).
Food wise, the creative, vegan-friendly menu may be small but it's big on flavour offering small bites such as battered plantain with jalapeno cashew cream; salt and pepper tofu; chicken karaage with passionfruit teriyaki and yuzu mayo; and fried ponzu crocodile with furikake and garlic mayo.
More substantial fare includes panko-crumbed chicken or eggplant sandos on Riser bread; baos filled with crispy king oyster, avo and shiso mayo; vermicelli salads with yuzu kosho prawns or crispy tofu; and sirloin steaks served with kipfler potatoes, kai lan and furikake.
With pinball machines and an arcade game, plus new booths at the rear, Working Title is the perfect spot to get together with pals for a few brews and bites.
