Piccolo by Him

Fortitude Valley

Updated: Jun 27, 2024

Piccolo by Him is a chic, Euro-inspired cafe in Fortitude Valley, offering excellent expresso, delicious brunch fare and a tempting selection of pastries and treats.

A sibling for Piccolo by Her, this charming cafe boasts a sophisticated yet casual French flair, from the furnishings and vintage plates to the soft music playing in the background.

The mouthwatering brunch menu boasts brioche French toast with a generous dollop of butter, berry compote, and maple syrup; eggs Benedict with house-made hollandaise and your choice of ham, bacon, or mushroom; and a hearty Irish breakfast of bacon, black pudding, pork sausage, tomato, mushroom, baked beans, sourdough and eggs your way.

There's a cabinet crammed with gourmet sandwiches such as ham and cheese croissants, egg salad brioche rolls, and prosciutto, tomato, mozzarella, caramelized onion, and pesto on olive oil paninis.

Meanwhile, sweet tooths will be satiated with the array of sweet treats on offer, from pear or cherry danishes and basque cheese cakes, to pecan tarts and scrumptious homemade cookies  - think pistachio milk chocolate, butterscotch wattleseed, and vegan Biscoff.

With pair of seasoned coffee-industry experts as owners, Maxine Kim (Bellissimo) and Martin Kwon (Campos Coffee), the coffee here is exceptional. The cafe uses Campos’ Dark City blend along with rotating single origins, batch brews and cold drips. Besides coffee, there's tea, dirty chai, matcha lattes, and juices.
