Hideout
Fortitude Valley
Hideout is a charming garden cafe hidden away in an unlikely Fortitude Valley location, and well worth seeking out.
Housed inside a heritage-listed service station in the Valley, this inner-city oasis has a jungle vibe with its botanical-inspired bar and leafy, fairy-lit courtyard.
On weekdays, customers can enjoy expertly-brewed, locally roasted coffee by Bear Bones, along with breakfast favourites such as smashed avocado on Turkish toast with dukkah and lemon, eggs benedict with crispy bacon or halloumi, or a Breakie burger (hand smashed 100% beef patty, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese & a fried egg on brioche bun).
Lunch offerings range from burgers (beef, sweet & spicy or grilled chicken, plant-based or cheese), beef nachos, salt & pepper squid, karaage chicken; or a choice of salads (haloumi, watermelon, smoked salmon or tofu).
There's also a selection of bao buns, karaage chicken or a 250g Wagyu rump served with cos lettuce, crispy shallots and fries.
Hideout is also fully licensed, offering craft beer (on tap and bottled), boutique spirits, and a concise wine list; while signature cocktails to imbibe in the secret garden include house signatures like Cheeky Tiki, Sweet & Spicy Marg and Coco loco, as well as classics like Bloody Mary, Pina Colada, French Martini and Mojito.
