Ginger And Green
South Brisbane
Ginger and Green is South Brisbane’s secret go to for great coffee, serving Seven Seeds espresso (roasted in Melbourne) alongside house made sweets and an all-day menu.
A sibling for New Farm’s Ponycat Café, Ginger and Green is nestled in South Brisbane’s SW1 precinct with indoor and outdoor seating, the latter surrounded by lush, tropical gardens.
This specialty coffee café offers Golden Gate espresso blend, single origins, filters (batch brew or pour over) and cold drip; best accompanied with Ginger and Green’s gluten-free, homemade, moreish brownie.
If you’re looking for something more substantial, popular dishes include double chocolate brownie pancakes with salted caramel, vanilla ice cream, chocolate soil and grilled banana, beef and jalapeno croquettes with green tabasco aioli and poached eggs, and crispy potato skins with shredded beef, bacon jam, gorgonzola, prosciutto and fried egg.
The café also provides a good range of sandwiches – such as a shredded beef roll with watercress and roma tomato or fish finger butty with dill crème fraiche – and salads. Try the recommended roast vegetable, quinoa and haloumi salad.
Tea, milkshakes and fresh cold pressed juices round out the drinks menu.
