Day Tripping At
Novotel Twin Waters
Those who seek the vibe of a hotel stay without the price tag should head to the Novotel Twin Waters Resort for a fun-filled day trip with family.
The four star resort is set around stunning Queensland bush land and a large lake that gives the feeling of a private beach.
Located 1 km north of the Maroochy River, getting there could not be easier. From Brisbane, drive for less than one and a half hours along the motorway towards the Sunshine Coast. Take the route six exit towards Bli Bli / Twin Waters and eventually turn onto Ocean Drive.
1. Food and Drink
Locals and visitors continuously flock to the resort for the full buffet breakfast at Nouveau Restaurant with Chef Steven Forrester. Popular menu items include the make-your-own pancake machine, made to order omelets by chefs behind the elegant buffet and poached seasonal fruits.
2. Sports and Activities
The resort welcomes children and adults to enjoy the extensive array of facilities at a small cost. The highlights include water trampolines, kayaks, catamarans, team games of beach volley, putt putt on the private green and the relaxing day pool. Advanced activities such as cycling are also available for individual fees.
3. Wildlife
In the evenings native kangaroos come out to play on the putt putt greens, nearby the gardens and along the edge of the bush. While they are wild and extreme caution should be exercised, visitors are generally able to come close enough to take an iconic holiday photograph.
Buffet Breakfast: $32 per person (from 6:30am daily)
Resort Activities Day Pass: $20 adults; $10 children; $50 family pass for two adults and three children (open until 4:00pm daily) - prices valid at time of review in August 2014.
