The Doonan
Noosa Hinterland
The Doonan is a stunning al fresco restaurant nestled on 2.5ha of land in the Noosa Hinterland, in the tiny township of Doonan.
Originally a quaint German restaurant, the unique property has been extensively renovated to accommodate 200 guests in a garden-like setting, with an abundance of outdoor seating, two bars, an ice-cream parlour, cellar door and a grassy field suitable to play lawn games on.
Oozing charm and character, The Doonan features soft archways and pointed ceilings, decorated in exposed brick. With surrounds of lush greenery, designer landscaping and herb gardens in large planter boxes, expansive lawns, potted plants, hanging pots, vines and garden beds, the venue has an upmarket nursery vibe.
The eclectic Italian-inspired menu caters for all tastes, with a Marana rotary pizza oven imported from Italy, churning out authentic Neopolitan, rustic-style pizzas with fresh toppings from local suppliers like the neighbouring tomato farm, Noosa Reds.
The Doonan’s incredible outdoor spaces are the perfect spot to enjoy fresh, local produce or a frozen margarita, otherwise there's also a bar on the ground floor of the original building
