As far back as 1937 this bar was a favourite haunt of the RAF Squadron and retains much of its old world railway charm today.

The hand crafted micro beers it was until recently renowned for may have been phased out by beer behemoths Lions and Fosters but this elegant wooden cubby hole of a bar overlooking Central’s train platforms is still a great spot for a drink and some freshly shucked oysters.

Cocktails and a decent wine selection from the well-stocked cellar have stepped up as the drinks de jour since the departure of the boutique beer on tap, as evidenced by the appreciative after work crowd to be found here, especially on Fridays.

On weekday mornings the bar opens from 8am to offer an express service of coffee, toast and muffins.
