The Drunken Monkey

Fortitude Valley

Updated: Mar 09, 2025

The Drunken Monkey is providing Brisbane locals with the ideal place to start their night out, bringing funky beats and tiki-inspired cocktails to Fortitude Valley.

The expansive bar and nightclub is decked out with luxurious fittings, with plenty of private booths as well as bar-style seating. Naturally, there are many monkeys around the place, on the walls, in photo frames and even at the bar. You’ll hear vintage vinyl, latin, funk, hip-hop, r&b and dance beats in The Drunken Monkey.

The actual drinks menu is one to swoon over - it is an interactive table stand where you can explore each of the cocktails ingredients by tapping through the list. There’s also a phone charger in the stand for those nights when you’ve drained your battery too quickly.

The drinks are tiki-inspired with delicious concoctions such as King Kong’s Nectar and The Golden Queen.

Need to know – Nearby public transport hubs include Brunswick St station.

Good to know – There are themed evenings at The Drunken Monkey, such as Friday Funk night.
