Fortitude Valley

Updated: Sep 15, 2024

Viscosity, Brisbane's first science-themed bar, is concocting fantasy cocktails and shooters within the heart of Fortitude Valley.

Originating from the quiet town of Stanthorpe, Viscosity has opened their science lab (bar) in Brisbane’s nightclub district. The bespoke drinking hole is filled with fluorescent, eerie lighting and small tables for groups to gather around and admire their impressive cocktails.

Behind the bar, there are all sorts of gadgets and scientific instruments such as syringes, droppers, test tubes and luminous cocktail syrups.

The image-based menu is on the wall of Viscosity so you can choose which science experiment looks the most appealing. If you’re unsure, the cocktail racks are a great place to start, showcasing five of their most popular cocktails. The bartenders have mastered the molecular mixology process instead of the usual cocktail shaking.

Taste one of their shooters for a flavour explosion that tastes as good as it looks, some of which have up to 95% alcohol content. Try their oil spill shooter, made with citrus, apple and blackcurrant flavours.

Need to know – Nearby street parking is available.
