Miss Manhattan
Newstead
Updated: Jun 23, 2025
Miss Manhattan is an exquisite bar and dining room where old world New York meets designer industrial chic in a side street of Newstead.
Occupying the spacious high-ceilinged warehouse and courtyard which used to be The Matriarch, Miss Manhattan is a vision of beauty and pared-back elegance.

Step through the iron gates at the street and through the ornate metal archway to the gorgeous chandelier lit main bar area. Take a seat at one of the marble tables with gold metal chairs, relax in one of the leather couches or grab a stool at the bar.

Here's the place to settle in, listen to some jazz and enjoy a drink and bite to eat from the delectable tapas-style menu, which is designed to take your tastebuds on a trip through the boroughs of New York.

Choose from 'Classics on fifth avenue' (think Harlem Chicken Lollipops, Manhattan Sliders & Reuben Croquettes) or '42nd & cured' (smoked Wagyu Bresaola or charred green veges with whipped hummus, green tahini, pickled garnish & olives).

'From the docks' there's oyster crudo (with champagne migononette & lemon); Soho squid (flash fried, with smoked chilli & lime aioli); or cognac & chilli prawns whilst from "The Chelsea" there's Lower East latke (golden potato pancake with sour cream, pickled apple & chive oil); Little Italy arancini (saffron, vegan ndjua & slow roasted tomato sugo); or watermelon burrata.

And for something sweet, there's a choice of New York cheese cake (limoncello, coconut & meringue); or the must-try Park Ave Golden Pear (poached pear, lime cream, candied pecan and gold leaf).

From the bar, there's a selection of classic wines and champagne by the glass or bottle; three types of Heads of Noosa beer on tap or local and international bottled beers and spirits. Cocktails, which are all all $19, include Margaritas (classic, Tommy's or mezcal), Martinis (classic, espresso or Big Apple); Sours (ameretto or whiskey), Highball (mojito, Long Island, Paloma or Dark & Stormy) and traditional (Manhattan, Old Fashioned & Negroni).

Miss Manhattan also serves dinner in its restaurant area, Studio 30, which is an exquisite 30 seat dining room (candlelit by night) tucked away to one side. Here you can enjoy a two-or-three course meal or degustation menu, with wine pairing by the sommelier.

Need to know - there is limited onstreet parking available at Masters Street and nearby streets.
