Pelican's View Café
Redland Bay
Pelican's View Café is the bayside's best kept secret, with an all-day breakfast/lunch menu and lovely views of Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay islands of Macleay, Russell, Lamb and Karragarra.
Housed on the second story of the big, green shed at the end of the Esplanade, overlooking Weinam Creek, this quaint cafe is open seven days a week from 7:30am. Dine inside the nautically-inspired space with plenty of timber or outside on the breezy deck.

Breakfast fare ranges from Pelican's big breakfast of bacon, chipolatas, homemade rosti, grilled tomato, fried mushroom, spinach and two eggs served on sourdough to smoked salmon on sourdough with baby spinach and lemon herb cream cheese and mushroom and bacon baked in a tart topped with two eggs sunny side up served with spinach and balsamic glaze.

Lunch options include homemade ham and pineapple pizzas, open chicken sandwiches (grilled chicken breast with spinach, avocado and lime mayonnaise), steak sandwiches (rib fillet, Swiss cheese, egg and bacon) and daily specials like spinach, red capsicum and black olive frittata, spiced Mediterranean couscous salad and three cheese pasta baked with chicken, sundried tomato and mushrooms.

The kitchen closes at 2pm but customers can enjoy homemade treats - scones with jam and cream, chocolate brownies and apple and cashew crumble - with well-brewed Sugar 'n' Spice coffee, roasted locally in Capalaba, until 3pm.

Besides coffee, there are pots of tea, milkshakes, smoothies, fresh juices - orange, melon, apple, pineapple, carrot, celery and ginger - and BYO.
