Sea Salt And Vine

Scarborough

Updated: Feb 28, 2020

Sea Salt and Vine is Scarborough’s hidden gem – a breezy seafront café under the fig trees tucked away inside the Scarborough Holiday Village.

The old caravan park kiosk has been transformed and extended to make Sea Salt and Vine Café, with a timber deck and tables and chairs dotted under the shady trees, resulting in a popular breakfast and lunch destination for Redcliffe peninsula locals as well as holiday-makers.

Dining here is casual, with orders taken at the counter and an extensive menu of dishes and between-meal snacks to choose from.

Breakfast is divided into Something Light and more substantial Mains, with the former encompassing Toast, Muesli, Pancakes, French Toast, Croissants, Banana or Pear and Raspberry Bread.

Mains meanwhile include Bacon and Eggs, Eggs Benedict, Americana French Toast, the Sea Salt Big Brekkie as well as their signature handmade Rosti Stack.

For Lunch there’s the option of Garden Fresh Salads such as Asian Beef Salad, Garden Salad or Rocket and Roast Pumpkin Salad, along with Starters (Garlic Bread, Dips or flash-fried Calamari) and Mains ranging from Chicken Wraps and Home Made Quiches to Wagyu Burger, Fish and Chips, Steak Sandwich and Sesame Seed Crusted Atlantic Salmon.

And those who pop in wanting some morning or afternoon tea, Sea Salt and Vine has a range of sweet baked goodies including muffins, slices and tarts to enjoy with a coffee, tea, milkshake or juice.

There’s also a good little Kids Menu, with Breakfast options including half serve of Bacon and Eggs or French Toast, Fruit and Yoghurt or Pancakes and, for Lunch, Fish’n’Chips, Pancakes, Toasties or Chicken Nuggets and chips.

Need to know – A compact All Day Breakfast menu offers Bacon and Eggs, Corn Fritter Stack and Eggs Benedict. Free off-street parking is available adjacent to the Holiday Park entrance.

Nice to know – Sea Salt and Vine is both child and dog friendly. Pooches can be leashed to the trees in the shade outside and water bowls are on hand. For children, as well as plenty of space outside to go free range, there’s a box of toys and books available. Combine a visit here with a pre-or-post seafront promenade. On Sunday lunchtime diners are serenaded with live acoustic music.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
