Tiny art deco Italian cafe and wine bar Marchetti brings a continental touch of class and the aroma of fresh baked pastries to Brisbane’s splendid heritage-listed Tattersall’s Arcade.

Marchetti Brisbane

Occupying a corner next to the Tattersall’s entrance, Marchetti Cafe is the creation of chic eyewear outlet Optiko’s owner Michael who envisioned a traditional Euro style café as the perfect fit for the quaint 1920s arcade with its Daphne Mayo marble horse friezes and terrazzo tiled floors

Pull up a bentwood stool at the window bench in the mornings, in the cosy interior or take a seat at one of the café tables scattered around the arcade, with an excellent cup of Allpress coffee and biscotti and a read of the complimentary newspapers.

Marchetti is also the perfect spot to breakfast Italian style – with an espresso and daily premise-baked Italian pastry such as Neapolitan Spogliatelle (filled with ricotta and cinnamon) - or French style with the best croissants to be found in the city.

For lunch the options include delicious Panini with fillings such as Provolone and grilled veges, Pancetta, frittata and Provolone or Triplo Formagio and spinach, or for something more substantial, Caprese salad, Calzone, Arancini or Eggplant Parmigiana.

Drinks wise, settle in and enjoy a glass of Vino Bianco, Rosso or Rose, as wella s the coffee or Squizzi tea and for something soft, there’s Acqua Panne or a small range of San Pellegrino flavoured mineral waters.
