Sarmic Cafe

Morningside

Sarmic Cafe, one of Bulimba's favourite brunch spots, has moved to Morningside taking up residence on Wynnum Road.

Owner/chef Michael Hoare and his wife Sarah have relocated their fab foodie cafe to bigger digs, taking over the space formerly  occupied by Southside Tea Room. The new cafe features rustic industrial decor including concrete flooring and sage green walls with pots and pans suspended from the ceiling. Sarmic's signature red repurposed bucket light fixtures also feature.

An open kitchen overlooks the cosy space filled with tables including three communal tables where large groups of friends can gather for brunch, or strangers can chat over cups of coffee.

The seasonal all-day menu ranges from flat bred served with avo, tarator and zhoug Middle Eastern sauces, and potato hash with poached eggs, carrot jam and Persian feta, to baked eggs with pork belly, chilli and smoked mozzarella, and chocolate chip cookie dough hotcakes served with strawberry curd and vanilla ice-cream.

Sarmic is kid-friendly with a Minions menu offering fairy bread, hotcakes with strawberries and ice-cream, avo on toast, bacon and egg rolls, and cheese toasties

Coffee on pour is roasted locally by Bear Bones, served along with tea, hot chocolate, chai lattes, fresh juices, milkshakes (made on custard and ice-cream), and smoothies (made on ice-cream or yoghurt).
