Dicki’s

New Farm

Dicki’s in New Farm is changing the concept of veganism, creating the most delicious plant-based dishes that appeal to every diner – not just vegans.

The inviting, little eatery located on Brunswick Street has both al fresco and inside dining options. The café has minimalist décor, with a cute little balcony area out the front. There is also a takeaway bench just inside, for those wanting to grab a coffee on the go.

At first glance, you wouldn’t notice that the all-day menu is completely vegan with dishes such as a breakfast burrito and bao. You can even tuck into a vegan’s version of the B.L.T, instead, it is named the E.L.T – toasted Turkish packed with crumbed eggplant, lettuce, tomato and aioli.

Dicki’s does a delicious version of the classic bruschetta, but with a plant-based twist – sourdough topped with hummus, broccolini, asparagus and a salsa verde.

If you’re looking for something sweet, dig into the maple roasted granola for a tasty combination of nuts, seeds, coconut yoghurt and fresh figs.

You won’t find a milky coffee in Dicki’s, but with their many versions of plant-based milk you certainly won’t miss it. Alternatively try one of their fresh smoothies, such as their green smoothie.

The café also stocks an abundance of freshly baked vegan pastries.

Need to know – Nearby street parking is available. Dogs are welcome.

Nice to know – The family owned café pays homage to the owner’s father, Dicki, the first vegan in their family.
