GOMA Bistro
South Brisbane
GOMA Bistro is South Brisbane cultural precinct’s best kept casual dining secret, tucked away underneath GOMA and overlooking the river and CBD skyline.
Weekend breakfast/brunch here is a real treat as are the designed-to-share lunches and all make for a perfect precursor or follow up to visiting the galleries. Best of all it doesn’t cost a bomb to partake in some delicious and creative food that is far superior to the usual gallery fare.

And, for visitors to Brisbane, it showcases the best of local produce with a real Australian flavour: breakfast/brunch touches include banana bread with macadamia butter, toasted Granola made from Australian nuts and Lilly Pilly ricotta dumplings (which come served with grilled stone fruit and whipped yoghurt and are highly recommended).

Also on the weekend brunch menu are delectable dishes such as Smoked Pumpkin Waffles with Balsamic Onion, Mushroom and Spinach, Rainbow Trout Fish Cakes with Poached Eggs and Asparagus and Free Range Bacon with Truffled Egg Frittata, Chorizo and Roma Tomato.

On the light side, there’s also sourdough fruit toast, and, from the counter, a range of fresh-baked pastries such as Pain au chocolat, friands and muffins.

The Oz/local produce theme continues at lunchtime with lighter options like Adelaide Hills Brie with pear and house-made lavosh and faves like the QLD Beef Burger with Swiss cheese, pickles, beetroot, tomato and cos.

The stars of the menu are dishes designed for 2 to 3 to share (all gluten-free), and all have the wow factor. Must-try are the Pork fillet with cracking, apple, plum and rosella and highly-recommended are the Smoked Chicken Paprika with charcoal corn and lemon or the Roasted Cauliflower with spiced hummus, almonds and pecorino.

And GOMA Bistro also has a couple of great gourmet Kids Lunch options for those aged 10 and under.

Need to know - Weekend breakfast/brunch is served between 8.30am-10.45am. A small selection of boutique beers and wine (by the glass or bottle) is available, as well as well-brewed coffee, tea, Iced Latte or Tea, Hot Chocolate, daily fresh squeezed juice, and daily special GOMA milkshakes or spiders.
