Shawty's Espresso

Woolloongabba

Shawty’s Espresso is a cool, cottage café in the backstreets of industrial Woolloongabba, perched on the corner of Burke and Elliott Streets with views of Boggo Road Gaol.

Inside this corner café, the styling is minimalist with light timber flooring and plenty of white; while outside, the building is bright and bold and features a beautiful bird mural.

Supreme coffee is on pour while tea-totalers with love the carefully curated tea menu from local loose-leaf tea company The Steepery, including roasted organic green tea, traditional chai masala and Formosa Oriental Beauty oolong tea.

Light breakfast fare ranges from acai bowls with blueberries, bananas and almond milk topped with paleo choc granola and avocado and feta on sourdough with olive oil, lemon, salt and cayenne pepper to two eggs (scrambled or poached) on sourdough and brekky bagels with bacon, egg, mozzarella and chutney.

A small selection of treats on offer – such as I Heart Brownies and homemade banana bread – goes down a treat with the top-notch coffee.

Nice to know – Shawty’s is a short stroll from Park Road train station.
