West End

This colourful speck of a cafe inhabits one third of a workers cottage, where patrons can sit inside hemmed by a wall of stained glass windows or outside in a leafy patio courtyard. Either way the atmosphere is Zen, enhanced by the water feature, Asian inspired décor, Eastern-themed books strewn on tables, thoughtful menu and friendly owners.

The food consists of warm pita wraps of every persuasion – from the breakfast (free range bacon and banana or fig jam) to the vegetarian (gado gado salad or haloumi), free range satay chicken or lamb kofta with tabouleh – and comes served in a heat-preserving foil bag.

The coffee is the fair trade BlackStar from the nearby roastery or grab a well made chai.
