Barbossa Bar & Bottleshop

South Brisbane

Updated: May 10, 2025

Barbossa Bar & Bottle Shop is shaking up Caribbean-inspired cocktails and cooking up island-vibed tapas in their expansive South Bank restaurant.

The eatery features a large alfresco area that wraps itself around the restaurant, from Grey Street side to Little Stanley Street. The indoor seating area is just as huge, with a function area, too. The bottleshop is off to the side and you can also purchase a growler of anything they have on tap from the bar.

The Caribbean-inspired menu features an abundance of delicious tapas dishes, big and small. Their Jamaican buffalo chicken wings are a must-do – they’re finger licking’ly good.

Or perhaps you’d like to try their South American empanadas, served with a delicious tomato salsa.

The Barbados fish balls are another one to try – packed with fresh fish, a delicious combination of herbs and are served with a smother of aioli.

As well as their aged barrel rum collection, the cocktail menu is one to admire. It’s laden with drinks that look too good to be drank, each with their own Barbossa tiki twist. You can make your own cocktail, too, with their agricole degustation.

Need to know – nearby public transport hubs and paid parking.

Nice to know – Barbossa also serves breakfast on weekends and coffee.
