Bar Alto

New Farm

Updated: Oct 24, 2025

Bar Alto's wide balcony, surrounded by the cool river air on a summer night, is the perfect spot to unwind and shake off the day in readiness for heading in to enjoy a performance at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Show or no show though, Bar Alto is definitely worth a visit - the food is sublime!

Pastas, which are its signature, come in entrée or main sizes – try the papardelle with goat ragu or the Venetian crespelle of pumpkin, sage and ricotta. Otherwise the entrees or the lamb or the pork belly or pretty much everything else won’t disappoint.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
