Shabuhouse Japanese

Brisbane

Secreted within the M on Mary complex, Shabuhouse is a stunning Japanese buffet restaurant that offers some of the best value dining to be had in Brisbane CBD.

Take the lift or stairs from the street to a world of mood lighting, gleaming blonde wood, screens of pot plants, Asian techno pop and fresh delicate cuisine.

In keeping with the name all the tables are set for shabu shabu, a Japanese traditional hotpot which is cooked on a hotplate at the table from a platter of fresh ingredients and sauces, the result being a refined and delicious meal. Soup base include Miso, Tom Yum and Katosabushi (clear fish and soy broth) while Suaces include Ponzu, Soy and Spicy Soy, Sesame Seed and Sweet Chilli.

Then there's a choice of Vegetables (think pumpkin, shallots, onion, tofu and bok choy and Meat and Seafood (beef or pork belly, prawn, mussel, lean beef, crab stick, sausage and fish tofu) and Noodles (ramen, egg, soba, udon or vermicelli)

For those who’d rather not prepare their own, there's the option of the Sushi bar, with a generous choice of Ngiri and Sushi Rolls and decadent Sushi Ships as well as a Hot Food bar with ever-changing specials such as Okonomiyaki, Potato Croquette, Crispy Chicken, Vegatable or Fish Tempura.

Need to know - At lunch time Sushi Rolls are avialable but not Ngiri or Sushi Ships.
