Kimchi Cheese Smile
Kimchi Cheese Smile is an absolute hidden gem of a Korean restaurant occupying an historic shop in East Brisbane.
Taking Korean dining to the next level, Kimchi Cheese Smile is the go-to for divine Korean fusion dishes with a creative twist, prepared by the talented owner-chef.
The cosy Euro-chic dining room seats just 30 and is the perfect setting to enjoy the heavenly food, either for brunch or dinner.
Kimchi Smile Cheese has a dinner menu unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere and designed to share, with starters including oysters with chojang or emamme miso, and small dishes such as Tasmanian octopus tartare with tobiaco and carrot chips, tomato with goats cheese, paprika and hemp seed as well as Brisbane’s best KFC (Korean fried chicken).
A small selection of larger dishes includes wagyu ribs with kal-bi sauce, potato and baby gem, John Dory with barley risotto and pecorino or spicy chargrilled pork with mushrooms and bean sprout.
And for dessert there’s heavenly burnt vanilla, perilla seed and ginseng honey or gruyere cheese with crackers and green kiwi jam.
For drinks there’s Korean and local craft beer on tap, K-Pop liquor (Bekseju, Maechwisun, Chumchurum and Gyeongju Beopju) and cocktails as well as a small boutique wine list and well-brewed Fox coffee.
Other non-alcoholic drinks include Milkshakes, Fruits float, a range of teas and Capi still or sparking water.
The unique brunch menu at Kimch Cheese Smile includes croissants, fruit brioche, escargot and banana bread by Brisbane’s leading french bakery Crust & Co as well as smashed avo with goats cheese, kiwi and fruit brioche, seafood pancake, and spiced mince with kimchi, mozzarella and white tortilla.
