Malaya Corner

Sunnybank

Updated: Jan 22, 2022

Occupying a corner (what else?) in the maze of shops at Market Square, Malaya Corner is a clean modern no-frills restaurant serving excellent value hawker style meals, all for under twenty dollars and with complimentary hot tea to be had from the counter.

Menu choices include the standards such as beef rendang and coconut rice or sweet Penang curry with roti. Or live dangerously and try one of the chef’s specials such as (braised) pork ribs in herbal soup accompanied by rice and deep fried bread sticks with chilli sauce – at these prices its impossible to go wrong.

Complimentary hot tea is available at the counter and those who come at “high tea time” (from 2.30pm to 5.30pm) can enjoy a smaller size meal such as pork fillet bun and curry sauce with free tea or coffee all for under $9.

The menu and prices may have changed since our visit.
