Lemak Kitchen and Bar is a stunning Malaysian and south-east Asian eatery serving up delicious hawker style food in the historic Logan Rd dining precinct of Woolloongabba.

The historic brick interior of the restaurant has been neon and lantern lit and the walls adorned with shutters and doors and neon signs to resemble a hawker's alley.

Entrees include roti canai (curry chicken, beef rendang or Moreton Bay salad); spring rolls (vegetarian, pork, duck or prawns); mini samosas filled with curried potatoes and green peas; chicken or beef satay skewers; deep fried coconut crumbed prawns with sweet chilli sauce; or a combination platter.

Delicious mains to share include Crying Tiger beef (sliced grilled beef with chilli jam & tamarind sauce); jumbo prawns with chilli sauce or with flat nice roodles and egg gravy; and fried barramunidi with special sweet'n'sour sauce, pineapple, peanuts and salad.

A selection of laksas includes vegetable, sliced chicken, seafood, fried chicken or combination while other dishes include Char Kway Teow (stir-fried flat rice noodles with fishcake, prawns & Chinese sausage); Nasi Lemak, Dry Noodles or Rice Meal (with fried or curry chicken or beef rendang).

Mee Goreng comes served with jumbo prawns (house specialty), fried or curry chicken, beef rendang or (standard) prawns and chicken; whilst Nasi Goreng also comes with a choice of fried or curry chicken; beef rendang, or crab meat (must-try).

Otherwise there's the Lemak chicken sandwich (crispy chicken fillet in broiche bun with classic or curry sauce) and the signature fried chicken combo, which comes served with fries. And for dessert there's deep fried ice cream (strawberry, caramel or chocolate).

Cold drinks at Leman Kitchen & Bar

A selection of house-made drinks perfecty complement the food and include Iced Bandung (sweet creamy rose drink); Tah O Ais Limau (iced black tea with splash of lemon & lime); Kopi Ice (iced Malaysian coffee); and Rose Milk Tea (creamy rose drink topped with black tea and whipped cream); otherwise there's standard soft drinks.*

*At the time of visiting in January 2025, Lemak was waiting on a liquor licence. Once received it will offer beer, premium wines and creative cocktails.
