Que Huong Vietnamese Restaurant

Darra

Updated: Jan 21, 2024

Que Huong, a longtime Darra dining institution, occupies a huge cavernous space festooned with tinsel, coloured lights, fake flowers and the odd mirror ball whic is somewhat of a contrast to the shabby roller-doored shopping strip it inhabits.

Still like moths to a flame, on weekends extended Vietnamese families and merry Anglos descend to partake in the offerings – mountainous portions of homey Vietnamese and Chinese food at rock bottom prices.

Get your fill of everything from rice paper rolls, steamed oysters or abalone, crispy skin chicken, salt and pepper crocodile, jelly fish salad, sweet and sour prawn soup to fried noodles, BBQ duck, seafood hotpot, Imperial Peking spare ribs with the majority of mains coming in at $21 or less and you may still end up asking for a doggy bag.

A word of warning - the menu extends to 100 + items so for those needing direction there are banquets (albeit not very adventurous ones) available, starting at $35 per person.

Good to know - The interior of Que Huong was featured in some scenes in Episode 2 of Boy Swallows Universe.
