Yakiniku Hachi
Brisbane CBD
Yakiniku Hachi is a traditional Japanese barbecue restaurant found at FudoDori, Brisbane's hot new Asian dining hub.
Located at the Charlotte Street entrance, Hachi boasts modern industrial decor with concrete flooring, cement pillars, plenty of timber and gleaming extractor fans descending from the ceiling.
Yakiniku, Japanese for grilled meat, specialises in Japanese-style barbecue cooked over charcoal by customers at their table on a small earth ware charcoal grill known as a shichirin.
Mouth-watering meats include premium wagyu beef, chicken thigh fillet, pork belly and duck breast, as well as more adventurous offerings such as pork tongue, beef hearts and chicken giblets. Seafood options range from barbecue eel and butterfly prawn to Tasmanian salmon and whole squid.
In addition, there's a range of fresh vegetables for grilling like capsicum, zucchini, sweet potato, pumpkin, mushrooms and more; while tasty side dishes include edamame, takoyaki, chicken karaage, shio cabbage and tofu wakame salad.
Rounding out the menu are spicy soups, yaki curries and Hachi's signature soba salads with yakiniku chicken, pork shabu shabu, or vege avocado.
Nice to know - Once the customer has ordered their cuts of meat, the kitchen then marinates the meat in Hachi's house made marinades including a decade old recipe special soy sauce, special salt and sesame sauce, and secret soy dipping sauce which is matured for three days.
