Hop And Pickle
South Bank
Hop and Pickle adds another notch to South Bank's burgeoning craft beer bar scene; serving gastro-pub British style fare alongside local and international brews, wines and classic cocktails.
Nestled along Little Stanley Street, Hop and Pickle provides undercover deck seating overlooking the Parklands. Patrons can perch on a stool at one of the communal tables or nab a booth by the bar.
There's three craft beers on tap including locally brewed Newstead Session Ale while bottled beer includes Little Creatures Pale Ale, Two Birds Sunset Ale and Coopers Vintage alongside Asahi, Corona and Peroni.
The small but well-thought out wine list includes international and Australian whites, reds and a rose. Or enjoy a classic cocktail like a mai tai, mint julep or whisky sour.
Entrees and bar snacks to share include Hop pickles, traditional English scotch eggs, potato wedges, masala bites, vegetable roulade, pork pie or Ploughman's platter for two.
Mains range from classic beef, chicken or sweet potato burgers to Bangers and Mash, Cottage Pie, Waldorf Salad or Chicken Parmigiana.
Meanwhile Sundays are reserved for family roasts with all the trimmings.
Nice to know - There's a kids menu that includes fish fillets, chicken nuggets or ham and cheese sandwich, all served with shoestring fried and tomato sauce. Kids under 12 eat free on Sturday and Sunday lunch.
