Urban Pantry

Urban Pantry is Greenbank’s go-to destination for well-brewed coffee, homemade burgers and other takeaway goodies served up with a healthy twist.

If the name is ringing a few bells, it’s because Urban Pantry previously operated in Ipswich before moving to Greenbank in October 2019. While the setup is slightly different, what remains is a strong desire to serve up healthier, home-made food.

Conveniently located in the Metro petrol station complex along Middle Road, Urban Pantry is something of a fusion between a café and a takeaway joint.

From 5.30am, this cosy eatery serves up an array of brekky favourites such as the Full Urban Breakfast, Poach & Smash, a breakfast burrito and your classic Eggs Benny. Of course, there’s also plenty of bacon and egg rolls to go around (all day as a matter of fact).

Open until 8pm, they also offer burgers, wraps, toasted sandwiches and burritos, as well as seafood (fish, calamari, sea scallops, prawn cutlets etc) and other takeaway staples such as dim sims, pineapple fritters and hot chips.

Made with hand-made beef patties and an abundance of locally-sourced fresh ingredients, the hugely popular burgers are a definite must-try. Options include a Gourmet Beef Burger, the UP Extreme (a Gourmet Beef Burger with an extra patty!), a steak sandwich, and a grilled chicken burger.

The grilled fish – cooked with just a hint of coconut oil – is also a popular choice, and well worth trying for those wanting a healthier takeaway experience.

Urban Pantry also serves up quality coffee from the Hendra-based Wolff Coffee Roasters, as well as tea, chai lattes, hot chocolate and soft drinks.

Those wanting something sweet to accompany their hot drink can select from a range of ready-made treats including cakes, fudge, and the wickedly delicious deep-fried Mars Bars and Snickers (homemade, of course). A selection of ready-to-eat salads are also available.

Nice to know – Although predominately a takeaway venue, Urban Pantry does have a few tables inside and out. They also have a range of gluten-free items available.

Need to know – Urban Pantry has parking at the door and is wheelchair accessible.
